The main purpose of the Museu de Ciències Naturals is to promote the dissemination and teaching of natural sciences through its collections and events and activities for the general public and schools.
The Museu de Zoologia contains collections of zoological specimens, mainly from the branches of entomology, malacology and vertebrates. There is a permanent exhibition with naturalised examples, temporary exhibitions and sections devoted to living insects, such as bees and ants.
