Parc de les Glòries

Where once there was traffic, today we find the city's new "green lung" which covers an area of 20,000 m2. The Parc de les Glòries is a large area designed to foster biodiversity and full of special places you won't find in any other park in the city.

The Grand Esplanade, is a hectare of grass that invites you to rest, relax and enjoy nature. The park is dotted with a number of biodiversity nodes, tiny nature reserves that reproduce the habitats of a Mediterranean forest. The rain gardens consist of flower beds and areas with trees and shrubs that collect rainwater which slowly filters through to the subsoil.

The Rambla dels Encants, which is the continuation of Carrer Cartagena, cuts through the section of the park between Carrer Consell de Cent and Avinguda Diagonal. The park has been designed with all visitors in mind. It even has an area for dogs with different elements where they can play and let off energy.

The main highlight for families:
The Parc de les Glòries has things to do for all ages. The Espai Joventut is a large multipurpose area with ping-pong tables and basketball hoops. And 1,200 m2 of the total surface area have been designed with children in mind. There are fun play areas with rubber surfaces at different heights, spectacular slides and much, much more.
